Wording and interpretation. Todays topic.

It's truly bewildering this thing called language and communication how what is being communicated can be changed in just a change of tone of voice or emphasis on different words heck, even choice of words.

"I never said she stole my wallet"

You see, by stressing different words of this statement alone can give it about 7 different meanings together. Alongside with an over used term of "Will you marry me" or "I love you"can be drastically changed by saying something 'off topic' like "I want to grow old with you"

Communication, what's being communicated, what's between the lines, what's being interpreted. We find ourselves constantly trying to analyse and pull apart what one another are truly saying, maybe even twisting words to manipulate others. I bet a lot of you may even think what's the point of me typing this, what are my motives - like usual it's just something to think about.

On a lighter note, a leap year day has just been, it comes only once every four years so I hope you all spent it wisely!

That's a funny little concept - love.
It's in the media everyday what we see, what we hear, everyone around us, is based around 'love'.

We find ourselves spending a lifetime finding such love and keeping it, hunting for such a perfect love that we see in the movies. But, the thing about it is that as we grow older, the more we realise that we know so little about 'love', all these 'rules' and 'steps' slowly begin to deteriorate and mean nothing. It is only when we learn more about ourselves, and about each other, is when we find this funny thing we call 'love', that you end up defining your own little 'rules' and 'steps' in which begin to make it that something special - which people go on to make more movies, songs and stories about.

They say you should not loose the moon while you're busy counting the stars. So here's to letting go of all the ideals in your head and learning more about yourself, and others.

So.. As we all know, or rather here is a reminder, that the overly commercialised holiday is just around the corner. Over commercialised as I don't see a real need to set aside a date to show your other half how much they mean to you.

Moving on from the negativity, I've been asked to blog about my ideal valentines/date. This question has been pondering around for a long time from people asking me where to take or what to do with their dates. Now I am no expert on this matter, neither am I aware who you or your date to be is for that matter to give any informed ideas... But for 'special' dates likes these all I can give for this is to say, lets be honest these dates are more than often for the girls - now I'm not saying guys don't appreciate large expressions of love, it's just that it's more of a girl thing.

In which, all I have to say is that 'cheesy' and acts of chivalry (no matter how much she says it's cringy) are loved by all girls... As long as it's from the person she likes - if not than it remains cringy. So if it's gifts you're after the safe option is to go for the typical flowers, chocolates and other gifts - however there are bonus points for taking the typical and adding your own spin to it (which would make you more memorable too).

On to the date itself - the usual dinner and movies, maybe try somewhere nicer than the usual and if you insist on going somewhere - go somewhere away from the usual, somewhere with an amazing view, somewhere you like to go to escape from everything. I can't stress enough that it's not about where you go but the company that you're with that makes all the difference.

Lastly, Valentines does not necessarily mean that you are limited to spending it with your partner, 'loved ones' span into friends and family too, and lets not forget yourself.

Ok well its only two, but these have run on for a little while now which I picked up as I had to quickly get ready for work... So here it goes!

Powder liner.

Reason being is that the powder on a liner brush gets right into the gaps between the lashes and it only takes a few dabs and it works like a charm! Even more so the powder barely budges during the day. Other benefits of this is that the line will be thinner making your lashes seem longer!

Jill Stuart Mascara

Since being in Hong Kong I've been using my Jill stuart surprisingly more than my Mojolica Majorca purely because it does exactly the same effect but washes off in hot water like a charm!! No more scrubbing!!

A request blog as well as something I've been meaning to blog about anyway:

What can I say to what comes across as a 'highly populated fast paced' city....

Pros being:

Opening / Closing times. Apart from places such like the bank and postal services the majority of the stores, entertainment and restaurants are open until later hours of the day, midnight (in comparison to the UK where stores are closed on ave 6pm, 8/9pm in the capitol / late night shopping) which means aside from going going home eating dinner showering and sleeping (I refer to the full-time 9-5 workers here) or to the pub till 11pm, I'll talk about these later, or to the club. There is a wider variety of activities to do after hours such like late night shopping until midnight, not having to rush to the cinema as the last viewing is at midnight, going to have a round of darts, bowling, eating, kareoke if you fancy it, I'm slowly loosing memory of what there is to offer here but you get the drift. Which would almost guarantee you with a busy lifestyle.

The wide variety of food at affordable prices, even though the majority of Hong Kong's population is that of native Chinese ethnicity, due to the British colonization there's a vast variety of food on offer within Hong Kong, and I'm not just talking about with a large price tag either, $100 (estimated to around 8GBP) is the average for my daily evening meal at restaurants. However you can find yourself some delicious bargain food for as little as $18 noodles from the side streets or $40 for a peppered lunch at the food court which is around the same price as McDonalds, but a million times better!

24/7 Transport to accommodate the needs of passengers, I haven't expressed my love for minibus' enough. Although they can be seen as dangerous as they speed round corners but it's because they're convenient, they cut to the chase and get you places on time whilst having a view of the places around you (as opposed to taking the tube). Which in turn provides you with the opportunity to explore the place you're coming from on the way, and going to. Most of the late night transport I take are via minibus - after clubbing etc, as be warned, the trains stop at midnight. You could be completely badass and stake out till 5am for the first train of course (which I have also done on numerous occasions)

This leads me on to addressing those even more hardcore party-goers. Clubs, and most bars close around 4-5am in which is enough time for you to get those alcohol induced food cravings out the way and be on your way to the train station to drag your tired ass home.

Separate from above but another pro is that many bars, that I know of, are open bar once you are admitted paid entry, perfect for those on a budget and preparing for pre-drinks on the night ahead. Ladies, most weeknights are free entry. Sorry lads, sexism at its best/worst again I suppose if you're taking a girl out you're kind of saving on paying for her too right?

Again as I've touched on before about the British colonization, is that a benefit from that is now the majority and I use that word lightly, have proficient English skills to serve you what you need (you may need to stick to basic English). However unlike other places that I've traveled to (eg. Korea) you wont need to pick up much basic native language skills as I had to there. You may come across a few street menus that have solely Chinese words on them but you can do as I do, eye up people eating and their food.. say you want what they have - if it looks good, you'll then begin to familiarize yourself with a handful of Chinese words you can then use on other Chinese menus.

Random fact: the size of Hong Kong, home to 7 million, is infact the same as London (within M25's radius) which populates around 7.8 million people - The only difference it that Hong Kong's alot more tightly packed so everywhere you go practically feels like oxford street.

The cons:

People, there's so many of them! I do miss how spacious it is in Britain!

People, again, the majority of people here are rather rude and don't seem to have much patience, it's like their life is about to end if they don't get on that train. Let's not forget the next one will arrive in 2-5 minutes.

5.5 days work for those of you considering to move and work out here a 5-day work is considered as a benefit.

Busy schedules lead for empty pockets, be prepared to be aware of your expenditure. You could live a happy life and saving money as you would in the for example Britain, as there's less to do by default you save a lot more - in Hong Kong it's a whole new ball game, if you want to save money you won't be wondering the streets at night.

I don't know why I do this to myself in such a fashion rich city, I often find myself trolling back on England's online shopping sites (ASOS, Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Net-A-Porter, H&M, Zara, River Island). I suppose as there's a low market for online shopping here as most of the stores are small boutiques whereas larger companies within the UK have sites to find everything you want in one place.. well here's my Christmas Lust list - be warned there's a load of images so those of you on mobile data plans I don't suggest you read this from your phones (yes, I know you're reading )

Re-vamping your gel liner

First thing's first I bet you're glad to know that I've not got a memory card for my camera again! So out with the macbook/iPhone photos and back to the clearer 'ish' quality haha! Unfortunately I've landed myself a fulltime job and I'm still adjusting to the time schedules and finding the right time to blog... I'm sneaking this into my lunchbreak as I type :) Aside from all that I digress from the main topic:

Are you tired of your Gel liners drying out and being a pain to apply even when you heat it on the back of your hand? I find this has happened with my MAC fluidline especially... Well there's an old trick with nail polishes when they get dry - to add a little remover in. I've done the same with my gel liner!

Before:

Notice how it's dry looking and rather rough - this has been on the back of my hand for a while and there's no sign of any smoother application. Hoever after I've just TOUCHED - you don't want to soak the brush otherwise the liner will become too light.

After

You can compare the top blog to the lower blob, see how it's alot more smoother and the colour is still just as potent? With this trick a little goes a long way. Additionally I do this per application as I'm not sure what the implications of mixing the while tub will be - be warned! This has made my mornings alot faster and easier. Just sharing!

Usually Primark is my number one place to go to for my stockings as not only are they affordable but, I love you Topshop but I am sorry, the quality is truly comparable. But sometimes there is an odd one in the bunch that lets you down, for me it was when I'm half way around the world and have no means of buying another (well means an excuse to go shopping). Any who this is the beautiful set that I'd just freshly opened for a night out:

Until I pulled them up to find this gaspingly large and getting bigger, hole. I wasn't happy Primarni, I wasn't happy. Well, for the price what more can you ask!

HA-LO-WAI Ocean Park Halloween Special

Looking for something exciting to do this October? Well for you thrill seekers out there you ca always go to your local theme park! I'm not too confident to claim all theme parks but I know that back home Thorpe Park does a "freight night" event, whilst over here at both Ocean Park and Disneyland there's Halloween Specials. What happens in these events are that the theme parks are specially opened longer than the usual trading time in which you can have the experience of late night rides, additionally they open up a few more haunted houses.

We dressed up to go that extra mile for our evening out!
( Zombie makeup tips - apply foundation all over to remove any redness or colouration to your face, then get a dark muddy colour darker than your usual contour, and apply it generously your usual contoured areas, do make sure u slightly blend the edges to finish it neatly! Add fake blood etc if you want )

About the special event itself, the costumes were amazinggggg like you can tell they put way more effort in them in comparison to Thorpe Park, I couldn't take photos in the haunted houses but in some parts I was afraid to walk in, as the interior and makeup on the workers made it look and feel like I was walking into a horror movie. Scare factor was rather low, however the screams mainly came from shock, as people jump out at you from random areas of the mazes, but it is something I would defiantly recommend going to do at least once in a lifetime! After a couple it begins to get repetitive however the workers at the attraction made it that bit more entertaining, I heard that Ocean Park workers are more professional on that part whereas Disneyland runs out on steam but I haven't experienced it personally to say so.

Other than that Happy Halloween!

Just a simple product rave, Bioderma make up remover. Mine's in sensitive, usually my fave make up removers (Clinique and Boots Botanics) leave my skin oily and slimey that I need to use face wash after also I'd need to rub my eyes a bit before my fave mascara (majolica majorca) will come off by about 80%.

This remover is completely different - it doesn't make you feel slimey, you don't need to shake before use, and it takes off my stubborn mascara with ease! To top things off, they're on sale at Bonjour (Hong Kong) with the original price of around $396 to now at $115 now you can't tell me that isn't a bargain!

So if you were jetting away for a few months and possibly for the long term but had a size and weight limitation, what would you bring? Well it's all down to what you'd be doing at the said destination and what you can't go without, it's about asking yourself what's important to you not only day to day but also what is more worthwhile in the long run. Now I'm not too sure how much of my luggage and personal belongings I want to share with you, but I'll dive in with the beauties and accessories. I must begin with apologising (in good british fashion) about the background as I couldn't find anything else to make an infinity board with other than my cousins exercise mat glamourous as it is!

(From L to R) I couldn't leave without my go-to perfumes not only casual or formal, laid back or done up these complete anything for me. Body Shop Green Tea Mask even though it's available within Hong Kong it's more pricey furthermore no-one's gone use it while I'm gone so I might aswel! Laneige Water Sleeping Pack was packed for the same reason although this isn't readily available within the UK. Heel To Toe Foot Cream can be considered as my HG for foot cream, this I can't buy in HK so I had to take it with me! Same again for BioOil, there are alternatives but you cant get your hands on this over here! Body Shop Tea Tree Spot Treatment, same as the mask! Suqqu Rice Mask, even though it's a japanese brand stocked in Selfridges, you can't actually purchase this within Hong Kong! Boots Botanics Make-Up remover, well you just can't find a Boots in Hong Kong!

In terms of make-up brushes I know myself that most of my make-up consists around my eyes with some face contouring and blush, so as you've guessed most of my brush collection reflects that! Essential brushes for everyday consists of my forgotten cheap eyeshadow brush, my MAC 231 shader for under eye and the E.L.F Angled Liner, other eye brushes often used are my Sigma Pencil and Blending brush. Everyday face brush consists of my Ping Pong blush brush and E.L.F Kabuki, other face brushes are my Sigma Duo Fiber and E.L.F flat top Kabuki, I also packed the E.L.F small smudge brush for seldom use. No make up look of mine is complete without my MAC Gel Liner, other liquid liners were left in UK as they're readily available over here.

I don't tend to play around with lip colours much as they all tend to wear away during the day anyway so I brought a few pinks, a coral and a couple trusty nude lippys with me, I did however forget my MAC Gina and ended up packing my MAC GaGa which I don't love as much and doesn't go with as many looks *slaps wrist* this ladies and gents shows that you should take your time in packing - especially when you don't know when you have a chance to get your hands on them next!

For foundations and concealers I brought my creamier formulations so they won't melt off my face so much as liquid ones would, in terms of eye liners I brought my trusty UD 24/7 and MAC's in wearable everyday colours such like black, brown and white, also fun brighter colours like silver and green. I wouldn't leave for anywhere with my HG Rimmel Kohl Eyebrow Pencils and my HG mascara's Jill Stuart, Imju Fiberwig, Majolica Majorca Lash Expander!

For makeup palettes, I chose to bring my day-to-day and few wearable (UD Naked, Sleek Storm) on occasion palettes (Sleek Graphite) with me. I only ever wear slight tints on my cheeks and face so I only brought back my Nars (Gina&Orgasm) and my Maybelline Mineral Blush, one thing I did forget to bring is my bronzer :( I also packed a few Benefit & Mac pot shadows that aren't in the palettes I brought with me that I also reach for often :)

I'm increasingly becoming more fond of my ring collection so I brought a selection of my basic rings and go-to rings

I'm a fan major fan of spontaneous behaviour but sometimes life can really smack you in the face and give you all kind of things that you're not only unprepared for but will literally shake up your whole life. Natural disasters, man made disasters, unpredictable events, they really can take you through a whole roller coaster of emotions.

To be as safe as you can there are things that you always plan for and predict but sometimes there are just the moments that you're thrown into the deep end and you just have to deal with it.

start kicking those legs because no-one else will save you but you.

As an apology I've compiled several FOTD's I had lined up for you guys, some looks I've been sporting this summer season :)

This look is the one from the day out with my friend Jenny, you can see her Vlog of the day here

This look comprises of thick liner, 'bare' lids and a statement colour under the eyes (I chose white) you can switch up as you wish, I feel it makes the eyes look slightly bigger, personally I feel this is more suited for casual / party looks.

This look was sported on a casual shopping trip, also seen on my latest OOTD post here

to create this look, use earthy/taupe toned colours, tone down on the liner (I just used shadow on the lashline to thicken the lashes and smoke it out a little). I've also applied demi lashes UNDER the lashes - this hides the lash strip and gives a more natural effect to using falsies, I've been sporting this a lot lately, as this look is toned down it's highly suitable for daytime casual and formal events, finish the face with bronzer as a contour and/or a peachy blush.

This look was worn to a coffee shop meet up with some old college friends, it's highly toned down so you're more than welcome to wear it for a daytime casual or formal event.

Lightly wash a mossy green colour onto the lids and contour the eye slightly with a darker brown shade, finish the bottom lash line with the mossy green on the outer 2/3 and touch the darker brown under the lashes, use a light shade in the inner corners, apply falsies and thinly line the eyes.

The summer child, I wore this when we took a trip to the park for sunbathing. When you're spending long hours in the sun the last thing you want your face is to feel cakey and over-done.

By using copper, bronze and golden tones on the eyes it'll nicely draw out your eyes ever so slightly whilst complimenting the tones of your tan. Add a slight eye liner on the outer half of the upper lid and use a shadow to fade towards the inner corner of the eye, rest of the face is left blank for natural tan to show through, remember spf lip balm on your lips, you don't want them drying out and chapping now!

I apologise for my spadroic posting, I promise I'll get into a routine soon, I'm getting into a habit of having many different topics and goodies to share with you but little time to put my full effort into it. For now here's one of my little OOTD's

taking care of your biggest organ

As I've done a small percentage of skincare I thought I'd finish up with how I take care of the rest of my skin!

For most skincare, hygiene plays an important part, I'm not too fussy with shower gels, I tend to pick up anything at the supermarket usually that of the Radox range, but my favourite shower gel is definitely that of original source in lime it just smells so.. edible! (not a reason why to choose a shower gel of course) but even with all these alleged moisturising shower gels there's no real way of measuring as I always moisturise afterwards: as long as it smells nice and leave me clean without any weird residue I'm smitten.

Exfoliation whilst showering; I've been using mittens/exfoliation pads for about 6 or so years now, just smothering your skin in shower gel will not make you clean. This is beginning to turn into showering 101 (which I'm sure you may not need). Any who, using exfoliation gloves buffing the skin in circular motions will remove dead skin and reduce the amount of ingrown hairs, leaving your softer and smoother.

In addition to the exfoliation gloves, on occasion, I use Soap and Glory's Flake Away packed with; Sea Salt which is known for removing dead skin and reducing ingrown hairs; shea butter and almond oil to dramatically moisturise the skin; along with other exfoliating moisturising skin goodies. I get a bit into my palms and massage these in a circular motion onto my legs until the particles become smaller and rinse off.

After a good towel dry I moisturise my skin with a body lotion, usually that of Dove or Johnson's I find that moisturising straight after showering/bathing is more effective than doing it later in time when the skin has already dried up and began shrivelling.

Additionally, I have a special moisturiser from Heel to Toe for my feet as they tend to be thicker and drier than the rest of the body. The lotion is thicker and creamier in texture with a silicone like feeling to it, out of all moisturisers I have to say; when I began using this I saw dramatic results in a couple days, my chapped heels were practically smooth.

When you think about it aside from your face, your hands and feet also undergo a lot of work through out the day and night, so why not pamper them that little bit further? After moisturising either of these I always cover them up with cotton socks to help retain the moisture then pop into bed, they may end up separated from my hands and feet by morning but they are dramatically smoother than what they will be like if I was without. This process is done all year round because I feel although heels and feet are on show a lot more during the summer seasons, skin tends to be drier in the winter seasoned and even though you can cover up your chapped heels there's no reason why they should be that way.

Finally, a quick touch into hair removal, I use an epilator. Reason being that shaving causes, in my opinion, coarse from stubble whereas epilated skin is alot smoother when hairs grow back, it's also required to be done less often, I also find that it is less painful than waxing - which can also damage the top layer of skin. The only downside to epilating that I've found is the minor trouble of ingrown hairs, which shouldn't be a problem if you exfoliate regularly and properly.

On a side note, I cant believe I hadn't noticed this before but for a while now there's been a dark patch in my pictures; I think my sensor's dirty so I'll try fix that asap! Until then I do apologise for the annoying dark splodge!

A clean face was desired as to not defer from the extravagant hairstyles and accessories, a little concealer(supplied by model) was used to cover up freckles with a light layer of foundation, finished with some Benefit Hello Flawless to finish with a spritz of E.L.F Mist & Set A little concealer was also used on the lips with a touch of Benefit's Benetint to add a touch of colour. UD Primer Potion with UD Naked to the lids; then UD Buck to the crease for definition. Finally UD Hustle to the lash line to get the effect of fuller thicker lashes - eyeliner will be too strong, finish with mascara.

So I came home (a few weeks back, I apologise again for the delay) and was greeted by a very nice surprise parcel waiting for me!

As I'd already touched on Sigma's quality of brushes, I don't think it's much different if not better with these two aside from the duo fibre brush did have a tendency to shed a little during cleansing. An added bonus is that they come with brush protectors too which is a hygiene bonus - not only from other brushes but from dust collection during storage. Any who I'll go on to talk about the brushes individually:

F50 - Most people use duo fibre brushes to create 'airbrushed' effects with their foundations by stippling the product onto their faces with it, however not only do I prefer to use my hands to apply my foundation (judge me all you like) but I feel that the F50 isn't sturdy enough for controlled stippling unless you're planning on ever so lightly grazing the skin with the brush. On the other hand I've found this duo fibre brush a saint for applying highlighter and blush.

F35 'Highlighter' brush, the tear drop shaped brush does do a highlighting job well getting onto tight areas like the bridge of the nose or utilising the brush and sweeping not only under the eyes but brushing across the cheekbones too, I found this brush also works well with concealing.

dirty things

Clean brushes are essential for hygiene and avoiding infections like conjunctivitis like I got once before, you can read about it here. Anyway, it's advised to keep your brushes as clean as possible to not only keep bacteria from spreading and being applied to your eyes, but to keep your make-up products lasting longer. I usually clean mine weekly or fortnightly (slap on the wrist) however I do wipe them with a make-up wipe when I finish using them on a daily basis. Here's my 'step-by-step' guide on how I keep my brushes clean:

I usually clean mine in the handbasin in the bathroom after I've cleaned and disinfected it, you can get a bowl or plate if you wish I just find it more convenient in the basin as well as the fact I don't like mixing food with my beauty products as such. Any who go ahead and wet (with luke warm/cold water heat may affect the glue in the fennel) the bristles of the brush be sure not to get them too wet.

Then squeeze a little brush cleaner (I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo as opposed to olive oil and washing up liquid or any high end brush cleaners, I find it works just as well and it smells great) onto the side of the basin (bowl/plate)

One by one take your brush and dip into the product (you only need a small amount)

Then take you brush in backwards and forward motions (being gental) work up a lather, add a little water and keep lathering, finish with a rinse through until the water runs clear. Once all brushes are done shake out the excess water.

On a spare towel, I've used an old dishcloth before I put it to wash, again brush backwards several times to soak out as much water as you can

Shape the bristles with your fingers , if you have a brush case this may help shape the brushes too

Lay them on the towel to dry, I roll up the side of my towel so that the bristles point down. You shouldn't allow water to get caught up in the fennel as it may affect the glue and bristles may fall out, by having them point in a downward motion water will travel in the direction of gravity away from the fennel.

Just leave them for a few hours to dry and voila! Squeeky clean brushes :)

I do apologise with not posting this as soon as I received them however I not only was moving and travelling but I also wanted to use these properly so that I could review these properly. So lets begin with the general points; all of the brushes are synthetic, however for the prove they are amazing quality, bristles are soft and the handle is sturdy. Additionally the fennel is well glued - out of the couple times I'd washed these barely anything has come off them and they retain shape well, with the blending brushes they do need a good a thorough rinse though!

Onto the brushes themselves; the E35 is just the right size for blending around my little eyes, however the E40 is slightly too large, I find; so I've now used the E40 as a highlighter brush instead.

E30's bristles are amazingly sturdy enough to pack in colour right in the Outer V and loose enough to blend out a little, also the perfect shape for smudging and shading on my lower lash line. Since I've got this I don't believe there's been one day that I haven't picked this up to use for one reason or another.

When I ordered these they took about 12 days to ship which I was pretty impressed with, I was expecting it to take about a month or so to the least! The only thing that did worry me was above the package it said I had only ordered one brush worth $11; but fear not they all came intact

A lot of the time I get numerous compliments about my facial skin's smoothness to which in some situations people gather and stroke, yes - stroke! my face. I'm not claiming that I do have amazing skin, however as I have been asked to: here is my face routine!

Morning/Day Routine

Warm Water

To begin my day, I always wash my face after brushing my teeth by running a cotton face towel (can be brought anywhere - nothing in particular) under warm water and wringing it out before wiping my face with it. I don't like using cleansing products when I wake up as the oils produced at night are good for your skin additionally, providing you cleansed well the night before. There shouldn't be that much dirt on there to begin with! The warm water and flannel trick is gental enough not to remove too much oil yet can effortlessly wipe away any eye bogeys or slobber from your face. After this step you should feel awakened and refreshed ready to start the rest of the day!

Eye Cream

I could not stress more about eye cream, as this is one of the thinnest parts of skin around your face; it's more prone to fine lines and wrinkles. To prevent this the best way is to keep it moisturised to enhance elasticity, however you can't use your regular facial cream as it's too thick and will clog up the pores creating milia (the small white spots), so something thinner and lighter is needed. The best one - that I always stick to (and gutted I've lost in the midst of moving) is Clinique's all about eye. I love the gel - like formula that dries to a silky smooth touch. This can be found at your local House of Fraser/Debenhams/Boots for about 25GBP a tub, for a cheaper dupe - you can always opt for Soap and Glory's Supereyes for just under 8GBP.

Moisturiser

I use these 365 days a year, regardless if my skins needs it more or less in the changing seasons. You need to change you moisturiser every few months so your skin doesn't get used to one product, it's like consistently taking medicine - your immunity would adapt to it. One of my favourite affordable's would need to be Garnier's Day Cream, out of all the day cream's I've tried they're all of oily texture that leaves me feeling clammy and oily all day, these gel-like formula's dry to a silky smooth leaving me still feeling fresh for the day.

Night Routine

Make Up Remover

Don't be alarmed by the pot, it's only Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover (3.05GBP), I used to swear by Clinique's Take the Day Off (14.50GBP) looking at the price difference you could probably tell why! I start by applying a bit onto a cotton pad and hold them onto my eye's (where I apply most of my make up) for about 20 seconds each allowing the product to soak in, then genitally swirl around the eyes and then sweeping it lightly over my lashes, I'll then sweep horizontally across my forehead, down both sides of my nostrils, then in an upwards and outwards motion around my face, then down the neck area. the key to this stage is being gental and patient with it, as this is the first stage of cleaning you want the product to soak into the make up to loosen it for the next stage.

Cleanser

Second stage! After removing the make up I trust your face is all oily and discomforting, so wet your face with warm water to open up the pores and swirl some gental foaming cleanser on your face - you don't want to use overly powerful cleaners on your face as you'll strip your face from it's natural nutrients, yet you want to wash away any remaining make up as well as dirt and grime from the day away, I used to love Clinque's Liquid Facial Soap (13GBP), until I discovered Simple's Kind to Skin Moisturising Face Wash (3.05GBP) again (major price difference). It was hard finding something similar to Clinique's as other cleansers either made my skin so dry it felt tight or clammy, these leave me feeling cleansed but not too dry. Additionally, I do suggest to find a daily cleanser without beads in as these will exfoliate your skin (which is a good thing for smoother and softer skin) just not on a daily basis, as you'd be consistently removing skin cells regardless of their health and again removing all the natural oils from the skin, on the other hand I do suggest using one of these:

Cleansing pad

You can find these for a real cheap price, mine's from Soap and Glory I cant find the price but it was a couple of pounds I assure you, you could also get them from one of the Loreal's Face Wash's after you're done with them! After you've lathered up your face all foamy, go over the face again with this pad in circular motions starting from the centre of the face to the edges, deep cleansing isn't within the power of the washing - it's the time and patience gone into it, a good cleanse should take about a minute for the full face! This doesn't mean spend hours on your face though because that can be equally as bad, another common mistake people do is to neglect their necks, so make sure you clean there too front and back! Rinse again with warm water so the pores are open, then spritz some cold water on the face to close them.

Toner

I don't have much opinions or enough experience with toners to say much, mine's currently Botanic's Rose Water Toner, after using cleanser this stage nicely sweeps up any leftovers the other two stages hadn't reached.

Spot Treatment (optional)

Applied once in a blue moon at this stage if and when I feel a tingle or a spot has developed to dry it out and heal quickly, Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil (5GBP) does this job to the T.

Skin Treatment (optional/weekly)

I'm sure you've all heard of Bio Oil's wonders in evening out skin tones, and fading scars, about once a week I drip a couple drops into my palms and rub them until my hands are warm and pat my face with it.

Eye Cream

It's equally important to apply this in the night as it is in the day, I don't think I need to say any more.

Night Cream

Day creams and night creams should be different as they both serve similar but equally different services as well as under different conditions. Day creams protect the skin against weathering as well as keeping the skin moisturised throughout the day. Night creams, on the other hand bring back the nutrients washed away from the deep cleansing and preps your skin for the next day ahead. Unlike my day cream, I don't mind my night creams being thicker in formula as I'll be unconscious for the majority of the time it's applied.

Alternate Night Routine

(Done once weekly, after cleansing stage - these are all optional)

Shaping Mask / Massage

This mask I had brought from Sukku in Selfridges a while back and does cost an arm and a leg, I haven't seen much results from it but it still resides as a good base for the Gankin (face) Massage which basis around circular upwards and outward motions to promote blood flow and firming of the skin around the face. This will not only reduce wrinkles, an improved blood flow will even skin complexion and reduce the pigmentation in dark circles.

Skin Detox

To keep the skin clear, I use a Tea Tree mask for a natural skin cleanser that will open up my pores to remove impurities whilst giving it a cooling sensation, helpful for removing the tacky residue from the sukku mask.

Moisturising Mask

With Laneige's Water Sleeping Pack as a gel formula after applying a thin layer to the skin it'll dry to a slightly tacky but silky residue, but fear not as once you wake you will feel the difference, I use this once a week as well as any other times my skin feels malnourished and dry.

Sheet Masks

Other than the sleeping pack I would sometimes switch it up for a sheet mask instead for some downtime whilst watching TV, out of the one's I've tried the ones that stuck out to me the most were the ones from My Beauty Diary. I believe there are enough raves about this online and this is just going to add to it, I love how they fit nice and snug without having to do much adjustment and they wont slip off that easily; this and the moisturising and tightening effects (variant on the mask used) on my face.

Eye Masks

There are different masks on the markets with specialist tasks such like nose strips etc, but the other main masks that I do not fail to stock up on are eye patches for my puffy under eyes, regardless if they work or not my peepers deserve to be pampered after all they get the most slap and work the hardest throughout the day, a nice eye patch just gives it a nice final soothing touch.

Spot Mask

Clear patches, I use this as often as I do for tea tree oil as a supplementary "night" mask for them as the patch stops me from touching said spot (dirt from fingers/nails irritating it further) as well as treats it further (patch also contains tea tree oil). Be warned, they are see-through and will look silly if you forget to remove it before you leave the house!

There you have it guys and girls (yes - skin treatment is vital for men too!) hopefully this really long blog post has made up for my absence, I've been meaning to do this for a while but couldn't have done in the midst of moving and travelling.

The make up I used for the Gallery's Private Industry viewing, beautifully natural that would work on a everyday, casual, formal, and work basis. I've been rocking this look for the past few weeks now with different variations of shadows from the same palette (explained later) amazingly wearable for all eyes.

Here's how to replicate the look! The exact same products aren't required but I've listed what I used:

Face

Hanskin Magic BB Cream (foundation)
Lightly applied by rubbing between hands and patting on the skin. Using your fingers dab extra on forehead, nasal, cheek, lip area's for extra coverage if required
E.L.F Studio Under Eye Concealer (medium)
Pat a few dots under the eye and dab with ring finger to blend out
E.L.F complexion perfection (finishing powder)
Swirl a powder brush into the powder and dab all over the face from the middle outwards blending as you go
Sleek Face Contour Kit (Light)

(more prominent cheekbones) Using a fluffy brush sweep a line about a third of the way from your ear canal towards the corner of your mouth, use your middle and ring finger to blend
(slimmer sharper noses) Again with the fluffy brush apply a small amount to the sides of the nose up the bridge towards the start of the eyebrows, blend again with middle finger - be sure to blend well on this as too much product will look silly

NARS Blush (Gina)

Swirl you favourite blush brush into this (for those using the same product a little goes a LONG way - be warned) and sweep just above the ear canal towards the nostrils and back and forth blend a little on the apples
E.L.F Studio Mist and Set
Spritz a little onto a flat top kabuki brush and dab all over face to set everything, this will not only take away any over powdering/caking, it will moisturise any dry patches as well as blending out any contour / blush that was overdone

A large part of being human is discovering who you are, and for me I feel numb. I lack passion, possibly disloyal; I can't put my finger on it however whatever it is, I can't name something that I would fight for.

I'm no sure if it is me, the culture I grew up in, discovering the culture I am from; or other social and/or nurtured factors. It could also be increased from the parting of my parents that's made me so 50:50 about most, and with insults I take it to the teeth but it never hits home.

So this is a string on a "strangers becoming friends to be strangers again", more specifically holiday friends, people who you know you will meet for a set short period of time that you'll temporarily cross paths, this could also be applied to those dawning the end of their educational years:

It's easier to keep in contact with people within close proximity - there's less effort involved in seeing them. But what happens when situations change? Most of the time you grow apart from each other; sometime's you may look back and think and think it's sad that you don't talk anymore when you used to be the closest of friends, the reason behind it is not just theirs alone but it's yours too. No matter who you know you have a relationship with in order for it to grow and keep growing it takes a mutual effort, if it's just one person reaching out to contact the other soon they will grow tired of trying and leave it all behind too.

We all know, the most well known 'role' for a ghost, is to scare/terrorise someone/people. Well, what if the ghost in question was a complete noob (most likely me as a future unexplained essence) and was trying to scare someone by spontaneously appearing when you open the door/look out the window. So ghost in question prepares, stands there, puts on a scary face preparing for you to look out the window/open the door/walk around the corner....... and you don't

Or! What if you just leave a room and said ghost thinks "PERFECT! Time to prepare!" and begins to find a hiding spot ready to scare the living daylights out of you, when suddenly you remember you forgot something and return sooner than predicted and spot the ghost still attempting to hide

HAYFEVER!!!

Hopefully this year I'll finally be ahead and prepared for hayfever; every other year I always feel like I'm being hit by this new plague that I've never experienced before, making me ask myself:

"HOW ON EARTH DID I SURVIVE THIS LAST YEAR I FEEL LIKE DYING"

-I know there are worse forms of illnesses out there excuse my naivety

Any who, I'm not a fan of taking medicine for prolonged periods of time especially when I can 'fight' it, Benadryl is my backup for 'important' dates (presentations, meetings, large social gatherings - basically any situation where sniffling and blowing my nose every five seconds will become of a nuisance). I digress, there are two reasons to which I don't like taking medication on a daily basis, which are:

a) I don't want to become reliant on the medication, my body's defences no longer 'fights' for itself

b) I don't want to become immune to the medication, where your body is so adjusted to the medication that it no longer has any effect on you

My little bible for hayfever is as follows, it doesn't cure the allergy but it does help dampen it:

POCKET TISSUES - I cannot stress these enough! If you don't you're just going to have to wipe your snotty nose / gooey eyes on your sleeve.. or someone else's!
Sunglasses - limits the amount of pollen getting to your eyes
Eyedrops - contrary to hayfever eyedrops, I've found Optrex REFRESHING Eyedrops work wonders to my itchy eyes - again DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN YOU NEED TO

Close windows at night (at least for your room) - the sun rises before we do in the day which, funny enough, is when the flowers open and begin spreading pollen which will reach your eyes while you're still sleeping.

Wash your hair nightly (girls especially) - when you're out during the day pollen may cling to your hair; so when returning home it will come home with you, to reduce the amount of pollen around you I suggest that you wash your hair at night / when you get in to get it away

Pets (furry ones especially) - this may sound cruel, I'm an animal lover myself, but those with pets it's best staying away from them too

Clean your sheets regularly - this will reduce the amount of pollen building up as you sleep / during the day

Keep the clothes you wear in the day quarantined - pollen will be attached to your clothing you've worn, by bringing them in and around the house you're spreading the cause of your allergy around with you making your own home a discomfort to yourself

Pressure Points (start arch and tip of your brows) - Massaging your eyes helps you refresh you're eyes, do this in the morning, evenings with a warm flannel over your eyes and whenever necessary

This is all I can think of for the time being, otherwise you can do my usual trick and escape the country for a few months until the pollen count dies down, and get a relaxing holiday while you're at it! Unfortunately I don't have the luxury and have to fight this war. Enjoy your spring!

Mother's make-up for a wedding we attended, I feel mature women should have cleaner clearer skin with only one focal point; as I do with my make-up looks:

Face

Clarins Perfecting touch

this was used as a base to smooth out large pores and fine lines, this makes the face younger and more lively

Hanskin BB Cream

only a light amount was applied through rubbing between the hands and patting on the face, too much would make the face caked up, using a patting motion helps blend in the product for a more natural finish.

Secondly, applying a small blog to the back of the hand to warm up the product and using a concealer brush more was applied under the eyes and around the nose area for extra coverage where needed and blended out

E.L.F Complexion perfection

Dusted all over the face to set foundation so it holds in place

Sleek Contour Kit

Applied just under the cheekbones as with age, cheeks may droop slightly the slight contouring brings some shape back into the face
Apply also to the bridge of the nose to shape it to be higher, and slimmer, this will make the nose more of a focal point at the centre of the face

NARS Gina

applied just across the cheekbones to add a little colour, buffed out with a kabuki

Spray of water

Using dry powders and matt complexions can bring out fine lines, pores and wrinkles in the skin, by a spritz of water/make-up fixer onto a brush and dabbing it onto the face finishes off the face with a slight dewy and moisturised effect not only making the skin appear healthier and supple but it also makes the make-up look more natural - this is also a good tip for those with dry/flaky patches on their skin

E.L.F. Highlighter

Along the bridge of the nose, just above the apples and alone the top of the cheekbones to bring more light into the face

Eyes

UD Primer Potion

As we were attending a wedding it was best to prime the lids for lasting durability

UD Naked

Applied all over the lid so that any redness / colouration was eliminated - mainly for photo purposes as they may sine through, applying a nude / colourless powder before shadow also helps with blending should you need to

Elongates and thickens her lashes as they're thinner and less prominent when you get older

Nothing fancy here, just to even out her slightly mono lid, this was simply done by adding a blob to where her crease should have been, when the glue is tacky gently push in with a small stick to create the fold and let it dry

Love, it's a lot like a stereotypes, it's been manipulated and moulded by the media to become this awe of something seen through rose tinted glass:

This emotion has no flaws, it's like a drug that everyone's addicted to.... but you're all wrong. You could spend a lifetime searching for this 'love' when it could be staring you in the face without realising. Spend less time searching for what you don't know and begin appreciating what you do.

True love, is flawed.

It's looking past these flaws and accepting someone through not only their best but seeing them at their best whilst they're at their worst; you don't love someone from when you meet them but it develops as you get to know them & becomes deeper the more you go through life with them. I suppose what I'm trying to express is that people should stop being fixated on finding mr/mrs perfect and look more towards mr/mrs right, they may well be the mr/mrs perfect afterall

Sleek Contour Kit - currently loving, I figured I should use contour powder to contour as opposed to Bronzer, this starts off looking muddy when applied to skin but it blends out so well, I've barely used the highlighter as I use the E.L.F one from my concealer stick

Studio Warm Bronzer

Very similar to my Ping Pong bronzer, however with the option to break up the brick with highlight, and blush options should you wish to. Not for those who don't enjoy too much shimmer; I tend to use this largely for contouring purposes only - see my new haul for new contour kit that's matt! I'll leave you with a fail swatch:

Studio Complexion Perfection

I used this as a finish powder as opposed to a concealing powder as I found it worked better after applying a base / foundation, the colour however didn't work too well and I haven't seen it make a dramatic change to my skin in terms of evening out the colour.

Studio Lip Stain Birthday Suit

A beautiful pale pink colour that's wearable day to day, it is drying on the lips and I don't recommend applying to dry cracking lips, apply after some lip balm, and pat on some gloss after dried; the product will wipe off on swiping motions and does not last a long time, however the colour is amazing - I've already repurchased this one!

Studio Concealer & Highlighter

For the price, by far the best under eye concealer I've used yet in terms of the adapting colour, smooth application and ease of blending, as for the highlighter comparable to Benefit's Highbeam
